YUVOTSAVA 2024

On November 17, 2024 the scholastics of Jesuit Formation Centre for Theology (JFCT), Anekal, in collaboration with its community members, organised YUVOTSAVA 2024, a gathering that brought together Catholic youth from the Begur deanery. The theme of this year’s gathering was “ಸಹಪ್ರಯಾಣ: ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಯಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವ ಧ್ವನಿಗಳು” (Journeying Together: Youth Voices in Faith and Action), emphasizing unity, faith, and active engagement.

The day began with the unveiling of the Yuvotsava logo, followed by a praise and worship session led by Fr Joseph Rodrigues SDB, the resource person for the day. His insightful address set a reflective tone, inviting participants to deepen their understanding of faith and its practice in their daily lives.

An engaging icebreaker activity was conducted by AICUF animators, creating an atmosphere of excitement. The participants were then divided into 12 groups and participated in various interactive activities in the afternoon, fostering teamwork and creative expression.

The day concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr Shantharaj Thomas. This sacred moment marked the culmination of a day filled with prayer, reflection, lively discussions, and shared experiences. Yuvotsava 2024 was a memorable day that strengthened the spiritual bonds of the participants, inspiring them to journey together in faith and action. Around 200 youth attended the event, including youth from eight parishes and students from Loyola PUC and College.
