"Re-Imagining & Re-Structuring Jesuit Youth Ministry: Collaborative Innovation for Future Impact"

The Jesuit Youth Ministry of the South and West Zones held a two-day meeting on October 5th and 6th, 2024, at Prerana, Bangalore with 28 participants from 8 Jesuit provinces. Rev. Fr Brian Pereira SJ was the resource person guiding the sessions while Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Provincial of the Karnataka Jesuit Province, spoke on the importance of Youth Ministry and the need to reimagine it in today’s world.

Key discussions focused on understanding the challenges faced by young people, analyzing the specific contexts of the South and West regions and exploring opportunities for innovation. Participants reviewed successful initiatives from the past 5 to 10 years and highlighted the value of collaboration between provinces to share resources and ideas.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to designing impactful, context-specific youth programmes, with a strong focus on inter-province co-operation. This gathering marked an important step in re-imagining Jesuit Youth Ministry for future growth and innovation.
